Pathologisch, the latest album by Zenit, is a powerful and thought-provoking release that showcases the band's unique blend of metal and hardcore influences. From the opening track "Narben" to the closing "Verzweiflung," the album is a relentless assault on the senses, with thundering drums, crushing riffs, and intense vocals that demand the listener's attention.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Gotteskrieger," which features guest vocals from German rapper Kool Savas. The collaboration adds a new dimension to Zenit's sound, with Savas' rapid-fire rhymes complementing the band's ferocious instrumentation. Meanwhile, "Niemals" is a slower, more atmospheric track that showcases the band's ability to create a haunting, melancholic mood.
Throughout the album, Zenit tackles themes of mental illness, addiction, and the struggle to find meaning in a world that often feels hopeless. The lyrics are raw and honest, and vocalist Sebastian "Sushi" Biesler delivers them with a sense of urgency that makes them all the more impactful.
