Review by Dark Ard Deidara

Olomana's eponymous album, released in 1976, is a beautiful tapestry of Hawaiian folk music. The album features the trio's signature harmonies and intricate instrumentation, with songs that range from upbeat and lively to mellow and contemplative.

The album opens with "Ku'u Home O Kahalu'u," a cheerful celebration of the beauty and community of Kahalu'u. The following track, "O Malia," is a hauntingly beautiful ballad about lost love, showcasing the group's ability to evoke powerful emotions through their music.

Other standout tracks include "Ku'u Lei Awapuhi," a lively and infectious tune that will have listeners tapping their feet, and "E Ku'u Morning Dew," a gentle and contemplative song that showcases the group's harmonies.

Throughout the album, Olomana's love for their Hawaiian culture shines through. The lyrics are often in Hawaiian, but even non-Hawaiian speakers will be able to appreciate the beauty of the language and the sentiment behind the songs.

Are there really no videos of Olomana with both Jerry Santos and Robert Beaumont? If so, such a shame. While waiting for TheBus on Kaheka in the 'mid-70's, I happened to walk into Holiday Mart (I think?), heard this song, and bought the LP two minutes later.
Hearing this for the first time and oh wow... just stunning! I need to find the vinyl, ASAP!
