Josie McDermott's album Darby's Farewell is a hauntingly beautiful collection of traditional Irish music. McDermott, a master of the flute and whistle, delivers soulful renditions of classic tunes like "The Blackbird" and "The Maid of Mount Cisco."
The album features a mix of solo performances and collaborations with other talented musicians, including Tommy Peoples on fiddle and Seamus Cooley on accordion. McDermott's virtuosity on the flute is particularly impressive on tracks like "The Hag with the Money" and "The Lark in the Clear Air."
