Review by Agen Bola

Franklin Whyte's album "Free Up Namibia" is a powerful and moving tribute to the struggle for freedom and independence in Namibia. With his soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics, Whyte captures the spirit of a nation fighting for its rights and its future.

The album's opening track, "Free Up Namibia," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its stirring call to action and catchy chorus. Throughout the album, Whyte explores themes of love, loss, and hope, drawing on his own experiences as a Namibian artist and activist.

The standout track on the album is "Nakalele," a haunting ballad that speaks to the pain and suffering of the Namibian people during the country's long struggle for independence. Whyte's vocals on this track are particularly powerful, conveying a depth of emotion that is truly unforgettable.

In the mid-1970s, German teacher RAINER EPP went to university in Kingston. Later he produced some reggae songs like the one by Franklin White.Epp met White and he played him the song on the acoustic guitar.Rainer Epp was enthusiastic and hired the Zap-pow Riddim Section for the first rehearsal. After that the song was recorded in the studio with young musicians probably in the Tuff Gong Studio.Other reggae songs that Rainer Epp produced were Larry Marshall & The Evernears - The Ark Of Jah Covenant & Jah Butty - Last Night I Had A Vision. All this information I got from a radio reggae programme.Unfortunately I don't know what happened to Rainer Epp and Franklin White and if they are still alive and active today. R. Bloomfield is the songwriter and was born in 1961 in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA. Most of this information can be found on https://www.discogs.com/de/my
