Here Gone, the latest album by David Sanborn, is a testament to the saxophonist's mastery of his craft. The album features a collection of 10 tracks that showcase Sanborn's signature smooth jazz sound, with a touch of funk and blues.
From the opening track, "Can't Get Next To You," Sanborn's saxophone takes center stage, accompanied by a tight rhythm section and soulful vocals. The album's title track, "Here Gone," is a standout, with Sanborn's saxophone weaving in and out of a funky bassline.
The album also features some notable collaborations, including "Brother Ray," a tribute to the late Ray Charles featuring Sanborn's saxophone alongside a gospel choir. "Oublie Moi," a French-language track featuring singer Lizz Wright, is a beautiful ballad that showcases Sanborn's sensitivity as a musician.
