- Audio Education, Inc. presents Recorded Songs from The American Singer - Book 1
- This album was prepared in conjunction with the American Book Company and Decca Records, Inc.
- The first three records are composed primarily of rote song material. (ABC 13026 - 13028)
- Records four and five (ABC 13029 & 13030) present songs which are an introduction to rhythmic movement.
- Record Six, side A (ABC 13031A) music is designed for playing rhythm instruments.
- Record Six, side B (ABC 13031B) is singing games.
- The recorded songs from Book 1 of the American Singer add a unique quality to children's initial experience with music in school. The uniqueness lies in providing the children with songs which have a richness of flavor. This richness is attained by variety of voices, instrumental background, and the artist's feeling for a song. The combination of these elements make these records interesting and appealing tools in helping children to hear good phrasing, tone quality, and clear enunciation. The fact that children at this age depend on hearing to learn a song makes good records a vital part of their learning. From the very beginning listening, then, these records set a pattern of quality which is fundamental to nurturing an innate love for good music.
