Review by Ulrike K.

The NåstrondNocternity Split album is a collaboration between two black metal bands, Nåstrond and Nocternity. The album is a perfect blend of Norwegian and Greek black metal, creating a unique sound that is both haunting and atmospheric.

The album opens with Nåstrond's "Void of the Abyss," a track that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The song is a slow burner that builds up to a crescendo of blast beats and screeching vocals. The guitars are raw and gritty, adding to the overall dark and ominous atmosphere.

Nocternity's "Harps of the Ancient Temples" is a standout track on the album. The song is a beautiful blend of melodic black metal and folk music. The acoustic guitar work is outstanding, and the clean vocals are hauntingly beautiful. The song is a perfect example of how black metal can be both aggressive and beautiful at the same time.

The album also features a cover of Bathory's "The Return of Darkness and Evil," which is a fitting tribute to one of the pioneers of black metal. The cover stays true to the original while adding a unique twist that is true to the sound of Nåstrond and Nocternity.

About Nåstrond Nocternity

The band was formed in Sweden in 1993 by Karl NE (guitar, vocals, keyboard), Arganas (drums) and some other person. They started out as Trident, symbol of the devil. Later that year the group was reduced to two members and they changed name to Nåstrond (which means "corpse-beaches"). Same year they made the demo "The Black Winter" where three of the songs were used on their next demo "From a Black Funeral Coffin". It was released January in 1994 and was limited to 666 copies. Again same year they released the 7" EP "Digerdöden". In 1995 they released their first full-length album, "Toteslaut
