L. A. Mavers' pursuit of perfection and general dislike of the music business led to only one complete album, but what an album it is, with one track standing out as not only an indie classic, but also a rock classic of any time, in any era.'There She Goes', a song that passes for the casual listener as a sweet pop ode to the lovely girl down the street but is in fact about the short-term joys of heroin in the system, is essentially a Byrds-like passage of jangly music with a slightly jarring Madchester vocal. And it works spectacularly, to the point that it acts as Mavers' legacy all by its' two minute-fifty second self.
