Review by Jeiner Mora

Goin To Chicago Blues Last Call by Julia Lee And Her Boy Friends is a fantastic album that showcases the incredible talent of the famous blues singer and her band. The album features 14 tracks that are a mix of blues, jazz, and swing music, and all of them are infused with Lee's powerful vocals and the band's impeccable instrumental skills.

The album begins with the title track "Goin To Chicago Blues," a classic blues number that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Lee's sultry voice and the band's swinging rhythm make this track an instant hit. Other standout tracks include "Ain't It A Crime," "King Size Papa," and "I Was Wrong."

What makes this album truly special is the chemistry between Lee and her band. The Boy Friends, consisting of some of the best musicians of the time, create a sound that is both cohesive and dynamic. The saxophone solos by Benny Carter and the piano playing by Jay McShann are particularly noteworthy.

Great Stuff, this was used to close the Villa Fontana in Dallas,Tx
Used to go to a gay bar in Chicago called sidetracks and at the end of the evening they would play the song when it was time to go home I would go on Mondays when they would do show tunes
This song brings back all the great memories of My childhood. I was born in the late sixties and as a child I can remember My mother playing Last Call,King Size Papa,Snatch and Grab It, and other great songs of the time. I love that she introduced Me to a wealth of Blues and Jazz artists that I have come to appreciate in My adult Years! When I stumbled across this song tears started to well up in my eyes! Thank You !
Oh wow! So many good memories of closing down Au Bar every Saturday night and this song!!

This was the last call song played every night at my favorite bar in college. It'll always bring me back to the good old times
Drink up you schriners !!!
Great song! Julia Lee supplies both the lively vocals and the boogie piano. I used to sometimes play this one at the end of my weekly Blues radio show on WDNA-Miami in the 1980's.
First time I've heard this one!
