Grinderman's self-titled album is a raucous and intense affair that showcases the band's raw energy and irreverent humor. Led by Nick Cave's gravelly vocals and Warren Ellis' scorching guitar work, the album veers from bluesy rockers like "No Pussy Blues" and "Depth Charge Ethel" to the brooding, atmospheric "Love Bomb" and the twisted, experimental "Go Tell the Women." The songs are marked by their visceral, primal energy, with Cave's lyrics touching on themes of sex, violence, and mortality. Though it may not be for everyone, Grinderman is a thrilling, unapologetic statement from a band at the top of their game.

- Grinderman are a garage rock band formed by Nick Cave, Warren Ellis from the Dirty 3, Martyn P Casey from the Bad Seeds and Jim Sclavunos from the Cramps and Bad Seeds. The band are foul-mouthed, noisy, hairy, and damn well old enough to know better. They have created an album of gritty punk, sleazy rock 'n' roll and blues that makes for a joyous yet uneasy listen. Cave plays guitar in the group; he has rarely (if ever) recorded with the instrument, and his admittedly primitive playing has changed the sound of the group's music.

About Grinderman
Grinderman is an alternative rock band formed by Nick Cave (vocals, electric guitar, organ, piano), Warren Ellis (electric bouzouki, Mandocastor, violin, viola, acoustic guitar, backing vocals), Martyn P. Casey (bass, acoustic guitar, backing vocals) and Jim Sclavunos (drums, percussion, backing vocals) in London, United Kingdom in 2006. All members are also active musicians in and the band, originally known as Mini Seeds, were formed as "a way to escape the weight of The Bad Seeds." The band's name is inspired by a Memphis Slim song, "Grinder Man Blues

Comments
I was really pleased to see this was reissued in 2018 (in toxic-looking green) as the first pressing has been very their hard to find. I like Grinderman for the wry, heavy, tongue in cheek crudeness and there really are some catchy tunes. Warren Ellis is fantastic and this would have been an amazing album to see performed live. Great stuff.
