Review by Jarobi White

Pacifica, the latest album by Fred Frith, is a stunning work of art that showcases the musician's incredible talent and creativity. Frith, who is known for his avant-garde and experimental approach to music, has once again pushed the boundaries of what is possible with this album.

The album features a diverse range of tracks that draw inspiration from various musical genres and cultures. From the hauntingly beautiful "The Beach Boys" to the frenetic and chaotic "The Big Picture," each track on Pacifica is a unique and captivating experience.

Frith's mastery of the guitar is on full display throughout the album, with his playing ranging from delicate and intricate to aggressive and raw. His use of unconventional techniques and sounds adds an extra layer of depth and complexity to the music.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," a cover of the classic folk song. Frith's version is hauntingly beautiful and deeply emotional, showcasing his ability to take a well-known tune and make it his own.
