Review by Jaimin Gohel

Felix Slatkin's album Charge is a dynamic and exciting collection of classical music pieces. The album features Slatkin's expert conducting skills and showcases the talents of the Hollywood Bowl Symphony Orchestra. The pieces range from dramatic and intense to light and playful, with each track providing a unique listening experience.

One standout track on the album is Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture," which features impressive brass and percussion sections that create a thrilling and powerful sound. Slatkin's interpretation of the piece is masterful, and he manages to capture the excitement and intensity of the music perfectly.

Another highlight on the album is the lively and playful "Capriccio Espagnol" by Rimsky-Korsakov. The orchestra's strings and woodwinds shine in this piece, creating a cheerful and upbeat atmosphere that is sure to put a smile on listeners' faces.

Comments

The Yellow Rose of Texas and When Johnny Comes Marching Home are my favorite marches . ??
long lived independent Texas !!!
Everything is bigger in Texas, and the bigger the better.
I just moved from Texas to Wisconsin after living in Texas my whole life. I would rather be back home in Texas.
As an Oklahomaian, I think Texas does america better than the other 49.
God bless Texas!
I lived in several locales in Texas back in the 80"s. I loved every minute. Texas is my favourite state!
The painting, btw, is by the great Charles Schreyvogel, who did many pieces featuring the "Indian-fighting Army." I have a book that collects them--big awkward thing, but gorgeous.
Texan culture and the like has always been interesting to me, but the highways are abominable - that's about the only thing that's ever stopped me from driving down there!
Texas is the best state in the union, only other state close is Alaska, its virtually still the frontier, just more centralized and more easy to traverse you can set up a town, and as long as you have a good pop, it will stay a town, you can venture all the way from the marshland to the pecos, just like they did back in the 1800s- early 1900s
Yes, I Needed That... I want more....
As a kid most of my knowledge of the USA came from Tex Willer comics, so this was pretty much my image of what the entire country was like
Singing about girls and comparing them to flowers sound like erika, this version was written in the 1800's and erika was in 1930 in germany, I guess germans were inspired by that
Beautiful song!
Real Americans with a Real Culture... Greetings from Serbia, Europe!
Ernest Tubbs cover is really good
Damn!!! That crash at the end! ?
dubya moment
I was so down when I saw the account was terminated I'm glad you're back I can't find this song anywhere else.
I would turn off the comment sections that's typically what gets accounts terminated
Pretty music to slaughter horses.
Ah yes, the Hungarian hussars are coming in strong.
2:53 to 4:03 is amazing.
Pity he used the American bugle call at the beginning, and not the French, or - dare I say - British...
french had a better cavalry than english in 1800
It seems a little odd, to me, that this collection of stirring marches dedicated to the cavalry is almost exclusively illustrated with pictures that portray one of the most misguided and unsuccessful--although tremendously brave--cavalry charges in history: Lord Cardigan's Light Brigade at Balaclava during the Crimean War (1854).
You can listen an other tune of this album on my channel, the rest later...
Thanks Steven,200 bucks...wow!I guess it is a very rare CD indeed.I'll have to give my wife a hint on my "early" birthday gift. Thanks for the tip Steven!
