Review by Catherine Aiken

Don Cherry's "I'm Still a King to You Wild Cherry" is a soulful album that showcases the artist's versatility and range. With the support of Ray Coniff and his orchestra and chorus, Cherry delivers a collection of songs that are both nostalgic and timeless.

The album opens with the upbeat and lively "Wild Cherry," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. Cherry's smooth vocals are complemented by the lush arrangements of Coniff's orchestra, creating a sound that is both classic and contemporary.

Other standout tracks on the album include the tender ballad "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You" and the funky "Funky Music Sho' Nuff Turns Me On," which features Cherry's signature horn playing. Throughout the album, Cherry's lyrics are honest and heartfelt, and his voice is full of emotion and sincerity.

Great song! Needs to be adapted for today's COUNTRY audience! BAMM!
What an absolutely perfect voice, huh! I'm wondering if this song was especially written for Don! Lovely.

@AristotleCalhoun Thanks very much for giving this song a try and for commenting!
So glad you posted this one. Today I heard Elvis' "The Wonder of You" and this song came to mind - a sorta similar theme. My old 45 rpm wasn't Don Cherry. It was more of an Elvis wannabe, and all I could remember was the title-line. So thank you for the memories!
mann and lowe are same duo who composed all those Bobby Rydell hits

My thanks to you as well for this posting. I used to work with his cousin and she was always talking about him - quite proud of him.
