Review by Виктор Пушкин

Gillespie En Vivo, the live album by Dizzy Gillespie and Gonzalo Rubalcaba, is an exceptional display of jazz mastery. The album showcases the legendary Gillespie's trumpet skills alongside Rubalcaba's virtuosic piano playing.

Recorded in 1985 at the Montreal Jazz Festival, the album features a dynamic set of tunes that range from bebop classics to Latin jazz numbers. The musicians' chemistry is evident throughout, as they effortlessly trade solos and build off of each other's improvisations.

The standout tracks include "Con Alma," a Gillespie classic that features Rubalcaba's intricate piano work, and "A Night in Tunisia," which showcases the duo's impressive musicianship and improvisational skills.

Comments

Always fearless and wild. What a delight to see and hear a solo of a young Gonzalo, already sounding like the pianist we love. He was clearly very happy and so was Walter Bishop behind him.
Walter embraced Gonzalito when he got up the piano, it din't that in this video. Here Gonzalito is giving the world a little taste of what it was yet to come.

lol Rubalcaba can't feel music? you're crazy!
Besides check out the reaction of Walter Davis Jr. standing behind him! I think what K43TOC meant to say is that he or she CAN'T feel music!!
I agree with FivePassion.
Gonzalo truly feels the music and is a master technician at operating that piano. As Bob Marley said "He who knows it feels it."
BTW...I am referring to the comment made by K43TOC just to be clear!!
No matter how great a person is, there lurks a individual that has no clue as to what it took to get there, let alone have the skills or whatever to match it or exceed it! This person whoever he or she OBVIOUSLY does not appreciate achievement and thusly expresses his or herself has an idiot!! Non-achievers have a tendency to do that regularly!!
Damn, this guy CAN'T feel music. Don't be fooled by the technique
The politics of envy at work again....
muuuucha tela, pa cagarse encimaaaaa
Gonzalo says he was 23-24 years young, that was sometime in 1985 .....Damn is right....
jajajaja chibolazo! jajaja buen video
Aaaaaahhhh young Gonzalo,,, he's sick with it! And now he excelled to greater hights!
Increible...
