Aretha Franklin's 1981 album, Love All The Hurt Away, is a soulful and uplifting collection of songs that showcases the legendary singer's powerful vocals and emotional range. Produced by legendary producer Arif Mardin, the album features collaborations with some of the biggest names in R&B and soul, including Luther Vandross, George Benson, and Curtis Mayfield.
The title track, "Love All The Hurt Away," is a stirring ballad that opens the album on a high note, with Franklin's soaring voice backed by a lush arrangement of strings and horns. Other standout tracks include the upbeat "Hold On I'm Comin'" and the soulful "Living In The Streets."
Throughout the album, Franklin's voice is at its best, with her signature style of gospel-tinged soul shining through on every track. The production is top-notch, with Mardin's expert touch adding just the right amount of polish to the songs without detracting from their raw emotional power.
